Is it possible to have predefined text. So you can drag and drop them from windows explorer. Thanks to Steve - taught us about room labels - I was wondering about regular text that we use in every drawing.

MattIf you make a group out of such a text you can place copies of the group and a change to one will change all. It does not work if you need leaders as well however since one group is not likely to work with only one leader setup.

You can make annotation symbol families that are standard notes. When you place them you can also assign leaders to them. They are placed from the Drafting design bar via the Symbols command. If the note needs to change, change the family and reload the family. They all will update.

Steve, You know that good drafting practice would have your "typical" note displayed in one location only.

I just offered an answer to a question. Should I have said no? You aren't supposed to do that?

True- one note on the drawing - but we have clients that want the same note four times on a single elevation. Its crazy I know - but they are the boss.

I would use a generic annotation family for this. I still do my system notes, general notes, etc this way, you can edit the family and reload and they all change.

As long as we get the same assurance from Revit that the note is coordinated, then it shouldn't be a problem. I hope for notes in the future that read their text from the object they point at. Change the note in the properties of the object, and the text will change in all instances of that note.
