Roof Hosted Family [Archive]

I'm sure this is something very simple that I am missing, be patient, this is my first family creation. It is a roof hosted family, but I can't get it to sit right on the roof. In the template, the roof is only 6" thick, so in my roof, which is 12" (+) thick, it sits below the top surface of the roof. It is probably a reference plane thing but I don't get it. Can you help?

You were on the right track. Just needed to add a couple of reference planes, one for the roof top and one for the base height, and lock the extrusion and revolve to those.
