This is the first time that our firm is working on a project in Italy. We have to coordinate drawings with a local AEC firm. Unfortunately, they use CADD. As a result, we have to use CADD to produce our drawings. Preferably, we would like to use Revit to execute the project (we have Revit 8.1)
Here are my questions:
1. How do we keep all the drawings at the same origin or coordinate when we export them out to CADD. Many of the time, they come in at random origins?
2. Is there a good strategy to coordinate notes in both English and Italian? How do we organize the work load so that it flows smoothly?
3. Have any of you guys had experienced with working with local firms oversea that use Revit or sending them CADD files after making adjustment in Revit model.
Worse yet, after the 95% submission, the client wants the building to be flipped in the 100% submission. We have to mirror every single drawings and adjusting them. I know that this could be done easily in REVIT, but I am frustrated that we spend so much time on coordinate all of these drawings make sure they line up correctly and move dimensions and notes around.

1. You shouldn't have any issues while exporting in terms of origin. Coordinating origins with DWG files you're bringing into Revit is another thing. Do a search here for "Shared Coordinates"
2. There is no way in Revit to coordinate multiple languages. For our rooms, we added a "Translation" parameter that we manually put a translated version of the room name in. Coordinating notes is another thing altogether. You need someone who knows both languages to coordinate them.
3a. You need to be prepared to advise the local architect and the owner that you're using Revit. They will not get DWG files that look as though they were drawn in AutoCAD. Let them know asap and coordinate often.
3b. This is an owner problem, not a Revit issue, sorry. This is difficult to do in any app. Hopefully you have an additional service fee built into your contract.

Hope that helps,
