How would you show a stair beyond a wall as hidden line work?

In the object styles, open the stair selection. Several options will be there to select the line type simply change the linestyle to what you need. If not use a detail line and the tab key.

Set the view to Wireframe (so you can see the stair) then use the linework tool set to Hidden Line (or your preference) and pick the lines of the stair. Once all the lines are picked, turn the view back to Hidden line, and your "hidden" stair should show.
