Hello all,

Just looked at this forum trying to get a more definite answer on how to go about using wall patterns in plan and section. I know this has been covered before, but I was hoping to get a better play-by-play...

I would like to have my stud walls show a cut pattern in plan at the medium and fine level only. This way I can work easily in the course view, flip the switch to medium or fine and have the walls hatched for presentation plotting.

I would also like to have no cut pattern hatch in my section views of the stud walls without having to override the pattern to white in the visibility graphics, because it wipes out all of my other wall patterns. I also do not want to go to the course view because all my elements do not show materials.

Is there a work-around besides switching the sections to have a white pattern override before plotting?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the insight.

1. This is realitively simple. Every wall will show a different cut pattern at coarse scale (the functionality is built in) In your wall properties there is a Coarse scale Fill Pattern parameter, just change this as desired.

2. You can't however have a different cut pattern for sections as opposed to plans as they are linked... The override method is the only way at this stage.

I thought so, but I was just checking to see if anyone else had a different work around.

Thanks!

Only other method would be the good old filled region....

That's another good one, as I suspect I will have to get used to using the digital white-out!

On a side note----

Why, oh why is my reputation so bad on this forum? If I offended someone, I apologize, but I never thought I could be a bane of these message boards! How do you get your Revit cred back to the green zone? This is really discerning...

Well, off to lament,

Eric

Don't worry Eric, I must have been soooo bad that they took my "Report Bad Post" icon away . . . . . or maybe it just got worn out :D
