Ladies and Gentlemen -

Scott Brown and I are giving a class on Stairs and Roofs at AU this year and, in the true spirit of this Revit community, we really want to deliver as much value to the attendees as possible. That being said, we are asking for people to donate custom balustrades for distribution. If you have a cool balustrade that you would not mind sharing with the attendees (and the people here on this site) please post it here under this thread. We will take the first step (once the office opens tomorrow ;-) ) and post a few for you all to use.

Thanks to those of you that donate -

JB,

These are the concrete balusters I made months back. I'm not sure they made it into the library at the office since I don't remember where I built them. Hope they help for the class. They are modelled using dwg data from this company: Concrete Designs Inc. (http://concrete-designs.com/)

The second zip file contains a newel post and railing profile. The newel post isn't meant as part of a railing, just a free standing element between railings. Some of these parts were in this THREAD (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?p=90416).

-PhilCool! Somehow it seems appropriate to use a railing for rail systems eh?

Could be fun to make a good animation with those :) some tunnels, trees, stations.... some ramps underneath to go up hills... wish I had the time to do it!

Some more, note many of these are specific sizes, so they are a generic model, nested into a balluster panel family so it doesnt change sizes.

I don't know if you can but could you move the class to 10:00? there is allready 2 good revit classes at 8 that I can't decide between, the only one at 10 is API basics

the only one at 10 is API basicsAren't you lucky! Yes, I'm a little concerned about being the only Revit class that's unopposed by other Revit classes.

The classes were set a long time ago. This class was a substitute for another instructors that was unable to follow up. We understand the dilemma, now AU has too many Revit classes.

Besides all that, I want to sit in on the API class.

Thanks to all that have submitted so far.

Scott Davis has "borrowed" this idea (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=27402&highlight=detail)and is also going to do this for detail components (http://www.autodeskevents.com/au2005/index.cfm?action=session.detail&eventID=1522&regpagestatusID=126&eschedulerID=341&eventoptionID=16611&optiontimeID=17311)class and has taken it a step further. He has promised to send the CD to anyone who submits something that can't make it to the class. I like that idea and will "borrow" it from him. If you submit some balustrades here I will send you my CD. BTW, my CD will cover all 3 of my classes (Implementation (http://www.autodeskevents.com/au2005/index.cfm?action=session.detail&eventID=1522&regpagestatusID=126&eschedulerID=341&eventoptionID=16593&optiontimeID=17293), B-Z (http://www.autodeskevents.com/au2005/index.cfm?action=session.detail&eventID=1522&regpagestatusID=126&eschedulerID=341&eventoptionID=16609&optiontimeID=17309) and Stairs and Roofs (http://www.autodeskevents.com/au2005/index.cfm?action=session.detail&eventID=1522&regpagestatusID=126&eschedulerID=341&eventoptionID=16604&optiontimeID=17304))

If you want the CD and do not want to post here on AUGI, please feel free to email (or set up an FTP) to me. My email address is jbalding (at) WATG {dott} com (coded of course). Please put AU Revit Baluster in the subject line to ensure proper delivery.
