Face cutout

When I cut out portion of exterior wall layer it doesn't show up in the plan any longer but is visible in the elevation. Is it normal?

No, doesn't sound normal.

So, you've cut out a portion of wall using a void and the elevation shows a surface pattern for the exposed face of the internal wall layer , which I assume was painted on ?, ( unless you inserted a new wall ) but in the plan you are seeing the layers below the cut, for some reason ?, when you would normally expect to see just the outline of the cut. ( See image posted below )

Have you got a plan region active maybe ?
