Callouts only reference a single view?

When you draw a section, the section mark shows up in all views that intersect the section cut by default. However, do callouts only reference the view in which it was originally created? I have a noted floor plan with callouts, and a separate plan for dimensions. I created a duplicate of the dimensioned plan to show revisions, but I want those callouts to show up on that new dimensioned plan. Even with callouts turned on, they do not show up. Is my only option to create new callouts using Reference Other View?

Thats the only way i know for callouts... Seems like there should be an option for callouts to show in intersecting views - or something along those lines...

I have this strange feeling that there was this option but can't find it?
