A better properties dialogue

Has anyone come up with a properties dialogue box that resembles the classic R14. As I've said before I'm not impressed with the current solution, it's a stumbling block that won't lend itself to a quick cadence level.

Alternatively, can the current properties box be reconfigured or customized?
