referencing imported views

We have window and door details drawn from cad that we would like to use for our current project. What I don't understand is how you link the detail so it shows up on the detail bubble/tag. I am having difficulties coming up with the correct verbage to have revit help or tutorials be of any service. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

How do you connect an imported cad detail to it's corresponding callout?

Are you familiar with reference callouts and reference sections? They may be what you are looking for.

Import the dwg details into a Drafting View, set to the scale you require. Name the views.
From the plans, elevations or sections, select call out and on the Options Bar, click "reference this view" and you will get a drop down list of the drafting views to select from.
When the drafting views are placed on sheets, the call out will reference those sheets.
