I just took a new job as A/E or "Inventor expert" at a 3rd party vertical software company. Two things I am wondering.

* They want me to take the Inventor pro test. How hard is it, how much should you know to be able to take it?

* What kind of reference / training materials do you recommend to help improve my skills in Inventor?

I went to the AUGI Birmingham AL event and met Ron Myers, liked his teaching style and have ordered his book. Any others anyone can recommend?

I need to learn more I am a sponge....

I'd check out some of the official Autodesk courseware although I don't see any Professional specific material for r10.

Good luck at Striker Systems. One of my past customers (and a vendor to the firm I work for now)uses their software for their CNC plasma/torch.

From one Inventor AE to another, welcome to the AE world!

Training materials are a little hard to come by (A'Desk plays that really close to the vest). But are you taking the test at AU? If you are I recommend the prep class they offer. It's a huge help.

Also the test is really big on the 'knowing where to find the information', being somewhat familiar with the help system will make it easier. I recall a couple of build this, and check the volume/mass type of questions too.

Other than that, it's just getting familiar with Inventor.

Good luck, if you have questions, feel free to post!

Jonathan

Rereading your post.....

I presume you mean the Inventor Certified Expert Test?

Inventor Pro, implies you're speaking about Inventor Professional, which is the version of Inventor that has Cable and Wire Harnessing, Tubing and Piping, and single part stress analysis.

If you are taking the Inventor Certified Expert (ICE) test, don't worry about the Professional Mods. They're not on the test. Only core Inventor material.
