I am having a problem with a few drawings. The problem is that autocad is very slow whne opening, saving, and undo(ing). I have installed sp1 and deleted all layer filters. What else could cause this?

Hi
What happens if you copy the drawing file locally ie "C" drive and work on it from there?

See if any of the information contained in the following thread helps...
Drawing slows down, especially while selecting objects. (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=22361)

I will take a look at the drawing file when I get home this evening (sorry, I don't have the time now).
Have a good one, Mike

Hi
Plus, try searching (http://forums.augi.com/search.php?) the AutoCAD Support (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=177) forums using the following criteria...
Key Word(s): Slow + *Open*
Slow + *Save*

When I wblocked all objects and created a blank new drawing and inserted the wblock into the new drawing, everything is fine, but most drawings have a few layouts, so I can't do this to all the drawings.
We also reinstalled or server os(windows server 2003) and setup everyone with different user names. All cad operators had to redo their autocad profiles because of the new user names. All problems occured after the network changes. Everyone is running windows xp pro. Also autocad profiles are local to the computer.

As promised...
Using your original drawing file ( above )...
Open and Save times of approx 5 seconds.
No issue / problem with Undo.

Open and Save times, instant.

One of the other cad guys in the office was having a problem with Acad2006. It would take forever to undo a command, open the layer dialog and plot something.
There are shortcuts to wizards ("add a plot style" and "add a plotter") under documents and settings (you know the rest) plot styles and plotters. These shortcuts point to programs and folders dealing with acad2005. I deleted both shortcuts and everything seams fine now.
I got this from the autocad 2006 discussion forums.

Please note I have *merged* your two threads that deal with the same issue / problem into one central thread...
Thanks,
Mike
