I have a wall that is a 2x4 w/sheathing on one side and 1-1/2" veneer. I would like to hatch it and thought I could on the type properties/graphics area. That only lets me use the coarse scall fill pattern for the entire wall. Do I need to use a filled region to do this? Thanks for you help.

You can define hatch patterns for each material under the Settings/Materials. Select the material and define the Cut Pattern.

Thanks, I did that and some reason it is not working. I will just use a filled region to do it. I only have a couple of spots that is needed.

Depends on the hatch being used. One of my pet peeves with Revit is the fact that it doesn't rotate hatch patterns in walls as they turn corners. If the hatch you are using is a single line pattern it may only show up for walls of one orientation. Cross hatches, diagonal lines (assuming they are of the correct spacing) or solid fills are the only solution.
