I am building a model of a new custom house and on almost every floor there is something that is drawn up to be built some time in the future, after the house is built. for example it has stairs on every level, but i need to show a future elevator corridor. theres future bedrooms, a bar, ext. ext.-all kind of stuff- and inserting a new phase is self explanatory (phasing help.jpg) but the problem I have is that I cant figure out how to get a phase filter set up (phasing help2.jpg) to show the new building with the future walls and doors as dotted lines- (almost like how the demo objects appear). any help is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Setup a new phase filter that has new overriden, existing by category. then set the view to that filter and to the new phase

Revit doesn't permit viewing future work in context with new construction. It only looks back.

You can get there though, create a view that shows just future work, alter the lineweight/pattern/color so it will show up "dashed" or similar. Then overlay this view on a sheet that shows the rest of the work.

This assumes that your New Construction phased view is what you want to see on the sheet and just want to see a hint of future work.

Well you sort of can...This seems to work fine except you can't have existing walls appear different from new construction

This has been discussed before. A couple of solutions are mentioned here (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=3480) and here (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=23983).
