Is there a variable to set so when a user goes to plot a drawing, it comes up with the same settings it had the last time it was plotted? I have a user who's settings keep coming up as default. Thanks!

Under the "options" (Right click on the command line, select options) There's a plotting tab. Under the plotting tab you can select to use last successful plot, you can also set the default printer. There's a few more options there you could also try. After setting these, close down acad so it can re-write the changes back to the registry. Next do a check to make sure your settings stuck.

It moves with different releases but generally there is a checkbox in the plot dialogue marked "save changes to layout" - check this. There is also a button (in A2006) "apply to layout".
Set these and the current settings become the default for that drawing and/or that tab.

there is also a check box on the right that says save changes to layout in the plot dialog box

Why not just save a page setup? Better yet, create this page setup in your template drawing(s) - then when you go to plot, you just run the plot command, and press OK. No settings to wade through...
