If I create a block containing mtext or/and dimensions and then mirror the block the text also gets mirrored no matter what the mirrtext variable is. Any ideas on how to mirror a block but keep the text the right way around?

Hi
Check out the following Technical Document on the Autodesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -
ID: TS101359 - MIRRTEXT with blocks (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?id=5124680&linkID=2475323&siteID=123112)
Have a good one, Mike

Hi
I realise the following does not directly relate to your question, but if your Block contains Attributes the following Submission # EX001211 by Peter Jamtgaard on the AUGI Exchange Page might prove useful...

Thanks,
it basically looks like I cant do it.
I was attempting to create a block out of a floor plan for a house, and so if I had a handed version of the same house elsewhere on the site I could then use the same model. Also any amendments to the plans would only need to be done once and all would automatically update as the blocks edited.

Not without writing some routine / utility...
Have you thought about using Xrefs for part of the process ?

Yes but I have not looked too deeply into it, I will investigate, thanks for your help.

The xref behaves like a block. Text is also mirrored no matter what the mirrtext variable is. I also have this problem and it seems there's nothing we can do about it. Even in 2007, this minor glitch is not yet fixed.

Have a good one, MikeIts a noob question, but how do i run said lisp routine?
edit. nevermind. i got it. you can achieve the same results in the properties pallet changing the X (or Y) scale to its inverse. ex. X scale = -1 :: change it to X scale = 1
