Anyone out there have an easy way to create a double door with a center mullion? We just can't seem to meke it work and always end up drawing a rectangle in the center to indicate a mullion- but that doesn't help with the way it shows up in the schedule. We can't be the only firm to use this type of door. Any help?

Thanks

Have you looked at using a curtain wall to create a door assembly?

This has been a topic of considerable discussion even in earlier versions. Attached is my less-than-perfect solution created in 3.0, updated for 3.3 and currently in 2005. Getting the doors to look correct with either a curtain wall or door/window assembly is possible but my objection is the schedule result. To make this correct with an assembly or curtain wall, each cell must have a single door. Therefore, the doors will appear on separate lines. It's a problem if you use automatic numbering (your doors must be 100 and 101 or something similar). If you manually enter the numbers, 100A and 100B is possible but they still appear on separate lines. We prefer this door to schedule as (2) 3'-0" x 7'-0" with a single number.

The attached file contains a couple of styles that we created for our network (albeit as work-arounds) and one I created with a window assembly. I generally do not use curtain walls for this purpose but only because in ADT 3.3, the curtain wall did not cut an opening in a wall and I have not checked in ADT 2005. Perhaps in 2006?!?

Anyway, pick your poison.

Thanks for the answers, and the file. The schedule still seems to be a problem, but this is better than the various fixes we have used in the past.
I wish Autodesk had someone looking through this board for things to fix. I sure hope they start to concentrate on making Desktop work well, rather than adding new bells & whistles that I don't have time to learn because I'm still trying to make the last version work.

Thanks again
