I'm having problems with the visibility of a light fixture.

I have created an electrical plan and displayed the model as an underlay. I have then set the underlay to show my ceiling plan so I can place my fixtures....(if that even works?) I am able to place and see my linear light fixture. I created a special light fixture family for this project, did all of what I thought to be the necessary steps when creating the family, i.e. visibility etc. but this light fixture will only show up on the ceiling plan, not on the underlay of the ceiling plan.and I actually had to recreate all of the model line geometry over in the family with some adjusted visibility setting to even get it to show in the ceiling plan, you could not just select the model lines and change the visibility settings, reload the family and have the changes take affect. I am attaching the family so that someone can tell me if it is right or not. I would love some suggestions on how to make this work. It's slowing me down big time. Thanks ahead of time!!

Josh,

Change the visibility of the square lines to show in plan/RCP.

you could not just select the model lines and change the visibility settings, reload the family and have the changes take affect.
You might have to over write the existing incidences (the box in the popup that says the component already exists). If you don't the new components still should have shown the changes you loaded.
