temp. level ?

A client has a mystery level showing up, only in one section view.

It is all greyed out, non-selectable and is was given the name temp. level 1.

Any ideas how to get rid of such a beast? and how it could have been created?

Same thing happened to me the other day. I had cut an pasted from another project and I ended up with greyed levels which I couldn't get rid of. The only way to get rid of them is to send the file in to Tech Support. They have to get into the inner workings of the program to fix it.
