Is there a way to change the workplane

what reference plane a component is created to???
This is not urgent but every now and then I'll create an in-place family that will be latched onto a reference plane. Then I'll be creating a similar one nearby and therefore start over.
I know I can copy it and move it, but it would still be in reference to that first reference plane. So basically can I assign it to another parallel reference plane?

If and when it is possible, take a look at the options bar. There should be an option to Edit Workplane. Very often you can reassign the object to a different workplane. Comes in handy it quite often, one of those little things I'm grateful for but forget to say so!

I've actually seen that but never investigated it.
I guess I should look up from what I'm doing more often! LOL!
