Foundations

Does anybody know how to create foundations for a simple residential home? All I'm trying to do is to have the foundation lines show as hidden lines and the rest of the building in an underlay mode, so the foundation lines will be the most obvious ones. The foundation is a simple stem wall with a footing. I'd appreciate any help out there. Also, I'm new to Revit.

Create a level at the T.O. footing, go to that Plan View and then pick "Level Above" as underlay. Use the linework tool to turn footings to hidden line: go to Tools, linework and then in the Type Selector choose Hidden and pick the lines you want to change.

You could manufacture a duplicate ground flooor plan making it wireframe and then use graphic overrides to give a bold line to the foundations and a greyed out fill to the remainder, but you would need to make sure the founds were in a foundation wall type. There are quite a few ways to achieve this, however, and a quick search here will offer suggestions.
