The work around we've come up with is just droping the offset of the view range an inch and toggleing structural framing on and off in visibility. it works but it seems like there should be a way too underlay.

Drew,

If you can be a bit more descriptive that would help. Are you drawing your framing plans with lines, or using Revit's Structural Members?

Also, what is the problem you are experiencing that causes you to use a workaround?

Basically, more information for us = more help for you.

My first attempt was with lines but that didn't work too well so i created a 3.5" open web joist for the floor and roof and loaded 2x6 dimensional lumber for the attic. now i've noticed that when i place the dim. lumber it associates with the walls it rests upon where as the joist which is a modification of a steel member from the library doesn't give the option. though as far as visibility goes it's still catagorized as structural framing. this may or may not be a clue too my quirky underlay issue. the method i've used for setting up the views has been to copy the Attic for example then apply the structural framing view template, turn on a underlay of the level below and then place the trusses. fairly simple and effective for making adjustments for plumbing fixtures. now the request was made for a multi layer framing plan in order to plan the HVAC route and i copied and paste aligned it together based on a suggestion from a previous posting on zoog. it worked out fine for the print. do you have any suggestions on how to layer framing views? i've been fooling around a bit and haven't come up with a logical and clean way to accomplish this. i'm pretty new to this so please bare with me. thanks
