Use the Align tool, pick the grid line, then the centerline of the wall, and the wall will move to the gridline. Then click the 'lock' symbol that appears.

Use the align tool ... pick the grid first and then the wall... and then the lock ....

Aaaa. That's what I was trying using toolbar padlock. But then I couldn't move the gridline. What seems to work is using wall's padlock imediately after allign command.
Thanks

Yes, toolbar lock box locks geometry so that it cannot be altered. You could draw a single wall, and lock it in place so that it could not be moved with the lock in the toolbar. Not really a constraint to other objects, more of a constraint to where it was placed.
Lockboxes that appear after align/move/etc. commands are constraint locks.

...and really should have different icons for constrained and locked or differing colors.

Thats something we could with to show where a dimension is snapping to when you have pressed tab, it can be hard to tell if its picked core or face sometimes on a wall if they are close together. if they showed some sort of visual cue when selected on the model it would be nice..... wrong topic really, but never mind

- Different colors for constrained and locked.
- Different pre-highlighted colors for Wall face, core, and centerline.
Both are excellent ideas!!!!

Did anybody (moderator types) move this to the wishlist? Seems like great suggestions!

Best if the posters themselves put a wish on a list, rather than copying the posts from a topic across.
That way they can get the request wording the way they want it, which may have changed following the discussion in the General section.
