I can't get my toolbars to stay where I put them in AutoCAD Map 2006. Each time I exit, then open Map again, the toolbars are back to where they started. Also, it seems that when I customize toolbar buttons, they don't appear until I've exited and reopened Map.

Hi
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD Customization (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=118) forum to this one...
Why? - As you are using an AutoCAD 2006 based product, the issue / problem you are currently experiencing is related to the new CUI interface / functionality.
Thanks, Mike

I checked out the threads you suggested, but none of them address my problem, although "Notes on the philosophy of CUI" will require more reading.
I'm upgrading from Land Desktop 3, Civil, Survey to Land Desktop 2006 and Civil 3D 2006. Toolbars seem to behave themselves in those applications. It's in Map that I am having this problem. I am new to CUIs and have read as much of the help and instructions as I can find, as well as downloading the videos from ADesk. It's gotten to the point where any help I get is just restating what I've already read...

I take it, the LockUI command or using a Workspace, from thread "Toolbar position (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=19989)" did not work for you.

That's correct. Land Desktop seems to work OK, but the problem seems to occur when I'm using "Land-enabled Map". I've been using the LOCKUI command through the right-click and the toolbars and I think I'm understanding CUI customization, although I need more practice. But there's either something I'm missing or there's something in the program that's not set right.
Thanks for the interest

Very strange...
Hopefully a Map 3D 2006 person will read this thread and chime in.
Have a good one, Mike

I have heard reports of some verticals not acting correctly if the core cui is not the main cui file. In my experience, with ABS, this hasn't been the case. I have ABS.cui partial to my enterprise cui file. However. I have customized toolbar visibilty or position to this date.
I have noted in other posts that sometimes changing the load order of the partials helps. Just drag-n-drop the partials into the desired order. Once again, I haven't done this personally.
