Dynamic Blocks in Tables

I have created a symbols legend and would like to use some of my dynamic blocks, although when I insert them into the table I am unable to change the block to the desired symbol. Has anyone tried to do this? Is it possible to do this, if so, how? If not, do we know if the next Acad version will have more functionality? Thanks for any input.

Mike

The only solution that I have come up with is insert them into your drawing outside the table, change it to look the way you want, then make that a block and insert in your table.

Be careful with your Dynamic blocks as blocks in your tables have some issues. I've noticed that if you have say a circle with a radius of 2" for your defaulted visibility state and another visibility state for a 30'-0" radius circle. Your cell will acknowledge the biggest extents of your visibility states and use that for the corners of your cell. Its really weird. Take a look at this DWG attached.

I would not place Dynamic blocks in cells. I would just place them in the drawing on top of the table.

Thanks Mark, I guess this would make a good item for the wish list. To be able to use dynamic blocks in table cells and to be able to change the visibility with in the cell. (fingers crossed) Have a good day.

The method that I suggested works around this, as it would then become a block inside a block, as far as the table is concerned the block you inserted has not visiblity or other dynamic information.

This is what I have done for now, but this makes one have multiple symbols once again. Now that I have these cool new dynamic blocks and I would like my staff to use them, your option still allows users to use the old blocks and not the new dynamic blocks. I was just trying to keep the new technology moving forward. I hope that Autodesk improves the tables and dynamic blocks in future releases.
