I have a project that requires cut/fill calculations and I am wondering how accurate Revit is at this. Does anyone have any definite answers? From a preliminary standpoint it seems like it may be reporting a our cut figures a little high, and at the moment I have the topo split in various pieces since Revit doesn't support the kind of cuts that you would get with retaining walls. I have been searching for a more complete site modeling program, but after hours of searching and trying various programs I haven't been very impressed. So...

1) How accurate have you found Revit to be, and does the model need to be a singular topo surface.

2) Do you know of any decent site modeling programs with easy user interfaces? I have tried ProSite and Vectorworks, but they seemed kind of clumsy.

Thanks for any replies.

I think to get engineering type accuracy, you would need a program like Civilcad (www.topcon.com.au/civilcad/), but I don't think the interface is all that easy.
