When I construct a wall perpendicular to another a 'temporary dimension' appears.
It's annoying that the measument is taken to the centerline of the other wall and not to its face, so that I don't see the real length of the new created wall.
In 'settings/temporary dimensions' 'faces' is selected.
Look at the attached figure.

I acquiesce; it's annoying... really annoying.

You can click on the blue square with your mouse and it will then give you the dimension to the core face.

With this condition there is no blue square.

No blue square?...on the temporary dimension extension line?....hmmm....I can't say I've noticed that....I would said David's suggestion, as the blue "square"/"hotpoint"/"grip"/whatever is a toggle for the dimesion to move between the measurable entities of the object...so it will toggle between the centreline, core boundaries, and wall faces.....just check the extents of the dimension lines and let us know.

Take a look at the 3'-6" dimension; when you have a 'T' condition there is no blue square on the extension line.

Same with temp dimĀ“s that are supposed to measure to finish face/core exterior.
Never seen this work, same with finished dimensions that need to change reference point.

Or did I just spend hours redoing dims to face of core the stupid way?
Dims was placed wrongly to face exterior.

Not sure if I understand...

When I draw a wall perpendicular to another, if I start my new wall by snapping (nearest) to the walls face, that's where my temporary dimension is measuring from.

If I start the new wall by snapping to the centerline of the existing wall, that's where my temporary dimension is measuring from.

Indeed, during drawing the wall the temporary dimension measures from the face of the perpendicular wall. But later, when I select the new wall [for instance to change its lenght], the temporary dimension is not longer measured from the face of the perpendicular wall but from its centerline. Look at my figure in the first post of this thread.

I understand where your coming from... Thanks for the clarification.

You can setup the temp dim to core, centerline or face. Go to setting and temp dim to adjust your setting. Same thing for doors.
