Wall Thickness

I have created a wall style to represent 8" CMU 1" furring and 1/2" drywall. It looks ok in my floor plan but when I tried to do a foundation plan I looks 9 1/2" thick wall. Is it anyway I can show the same wall only 8" in my foundation plan?

You have 4 options:

1) Split the wall at the floor level and change the lower portion to a 8" CMU wall without the finishes.

2) Make an 8" CMU only wall that is continuous between levels and then create a non continuous thin wall consisting only of furring and drywall. Then align, lock and join the geometry of the two walls.

3) Use a compound wall type.

4) Use the "Override Host Layers" option in the "Visibility/Graphics" window to change the color of the finish layers to white in the foundation view so that only the CMU core is visible.
