imported dwg I cant snap to accurately??

I have com across this several times - when I have imported a dwg file that is large scale in relation to the model, for example a site or location plan. Revit cannot snap to the endpoints of lines in the dwg file, it always seems to be off the lines??

I've had this problem too, but it's *always* been because of the DWG file not being 'flat'. If your lines have a z-thickness in AutoCAD Revit can have a hard time snapping properly to them. Once I've removed the z-thickness everything worked fine. Could that be what's happening?
