I'm sure there's a way to do this, I'm just not that smart. We typical call out footings and piers with a tag that look like this:
FX
PXX
(97'-0)
Now I can get the FX and the PX, but how would one go about getting the parentheses around the elevation? Next questions, Does Revit care where the ground plane is at. With ADT and Autocad you typically didn't want to draw a footing @ 797'-3". You'd let PN take care of that. Is this something that I can set up in the Project settings? Also I know that a lot of firms will set the base elevation for the top of slab @ ground floor @ 100'-0" so you don't have to work with negative numbers. This was one of the things I actually liked about ADT and PN. You always drew at Z=0 and PN just adjusted the xref height. Any input would be great.
Thanks

I'm unable to check right now but you should be able to use the spot dimension tool with a ( prefix and ) suffix. You may also be able to edit the annotation family to add the parenthesis but I'm not at my desk at the moment to verify this. I know you can create your own spot dimension symbol but I'm not sure if you can do anything with the text itself.

With regards to the projects overall elevation we have been putting our projects at the actual elevation. I would be curious to know if someone has found another way to do as you describe. I'm all for more than one way to handle a situation.

I'd love to see that. In the ADT world everything is base off the floor level + or -, so you don't have to do the math. Just change the elevation to -1'-6", but the elevation tags know that it's -1'-6" off the second floor with is at elevtion 723'-4", so it displays as 721'-10" on the elevatin tag.
