constraint a spring

i have a spring in the middle of two sheet metal, i want to constraint it, and i want to animate it, to compress the spring

I have a LUG member trying to do something similar. When I asked they said basically you have to make it adaptive.


Is there a way to test how spring would really react? When you push on it, it in turn would push back (or pull)?
