Gross-Net Area Analysis

Has anyone use a Revit Area Schedule to generate Net Area calculations? Essesntially, I need to illustrate the gross area of a building, and then subtract things like vertical penetrations to provide a "Net Useable Area" for the regulatory use.

Any suggestions?

Are you trying to do this in the same schedule? We have done both net area (room) schedules and gross (area) area schedulea and their associated color fills on the same page, side by side, but I don think you can have them in the same schedule.

We typically do this in the same table. AutoCad-Excel-OLE, later developed our own Area Calculator program, but Gross-Net was shown in the same table.

Just thought there might be a way to assign a negative value to an area through an Area Schedule's calculated values. I guess I'll have to put on my thinking cap and get back to work. :roll:
