Detail Component

I drew a detail component to show a typical exterior wall detail. When I insert the detail component in to my drawing, the text is lost. How do you add text to a detail component?

I dont think detail component are meant to have text or dimensions. Once you insert them in your drawings, add text in the view. Hope this helps.

That is correct, you use the detail component families to produce say a 2x4,not a complete wall section, you put the detail components together over top your model to create the wall section.
