Two directions array

I'm trying to create a family with square (two directions) array. But my family doesn't work.
Can anybody describe the rules how to create a family like this?
Any suggestion will be appreciate.

PS. I'm surprised with the family working performance. It's so slow...

Try this:

Build the geometry to be arrayed, & save it as a family.

Open a new family & load the above family in, and do a single array, & again save this family.

Open a new family load the single direction array family, and array it again in the other direction.

I created many families with one direction array before and now I'm bumped against 2-directional array. I spent hours and hours trying to create it but don't achieve the result.
I attach the sample file which doesn't work. I need variable parameters of vertical and horizontal element's quantities and space (step). The Revit refuses to change vertical space between rows to parameter "Step V"
This small task could be a challenge for advanced Revit users. And I'll be happy with any suggestion.

You were missing a few parameter links and beginning your dimension incorrectly for the vertical array. Better off dimensioning off the origin and locking each element in 3 directions. I noticed that particular linear array family doesn't have a y reference plane to lock to. Probably a good idea to add this for future reference.

Could you please tell some words how did you fix my sample family? Now I need to create some new families but can't see obviously what was wrong in my file. Only one dimension?

The dimension vertically, i deleted and picked the horizontal reference plan as the reference then the second vertical array element and added the vertical distance parameter.

Selected your linear array element and linked the additional parameters through so i could change the number horizontally and the length of the line.

That's about it. There a few other items i noticed that in a more complicated family would be issues but were okay in this family. Checkout my glass block window family uploaded here to get some idea of something a little more complex and how you go about it.
