Isometric Dimension

Hi,

I've not worked with the Isometric snap since I did an AutoCAD course when I started in this profession. I currently doing up a detail in isometric (ie a 2D drawing done with the Isometric snap on ...not 3D drawing displayed from an Isometric View) and all is fine with the drawing itself.

However I'm about to give it annotations etc. and suddenly realised an Isometric looking dimension for it is something I'm unfamiliar with. Any of my attempts to insert a dimension displays a dimension on the usual front plane....Of course, I could just fake it and draw it up manually or explode one and alter it but I was wondering if there is a short way (or command) I could do?
Anyone?

try adding an oblique angle to the dimension (I think that is what you are looking for)
it is under the menu Dimension->Oblique

Also assign a text style to the dimension that has the text obliqued. You will need 2 text styles, 1 for each iso direction (obliquing angle 30, and obliquing angle -30).

Thanks for the response...I've tried your suggestion and I just get movement of the dimension as a whole (it remains essentially unchanged...just moved) without it's "skewing" to an oblique form...I'm doing something wrong.

oops!....NOW it's working...( I forgot I had a "user arrow" for my dimension ticks)
