View Full Version : Exporting Curtain Walls to 3D dwg file

Hi all

Was wondering if anyone could suggest a solution to my problem.
We are busy exporting our model to 3d dwg for rendering in VIZ

I have noticed that when exporting to a 3d dwg file that the curtain walls export with an 'additional' solid element that appears on the wall layer in Autocad.
At the moment we are deleting this element because it obscures the glass in our renders.

Is there a way to eliminate this "wall" solid during export, ie a visibility setting in the 3d view?

Ciao
Marco

Sorry posted this late on Friday before the presentation so i didn't include and image of the problem

In the attatched image the red is the mysterious 'solid wall'; the green the mullions and the yellow the glass CW panels

Our temporary solution was to make the Curtain Walls function as interior walls and the rest of the walls as exterior walls > this as least put the 'solid' CW on a different layer that we could isolate and delete.

any suggestions are welcome

thanks
