View Full Version : Limit Site Volume Report to specific strata?

We've got a large site now, where I've now calculated several volumes over the entire site, between various strata. There are also a bunch of parcels, so I've also created parcel volumes.

Now I want to insert site and parcel volume tables for only one of the strata, but I get data from all of my volume calculations in the tables. It is a major PITA to manually edit these tables. Is there any way to limit the site and parcel volume tables to only have the data from the one stratum, short of deleting volume surfaces or creating new projects and exporting surfaces to the new project?

Using LDD/Civil 2004.

Look into using LandXML to create your report. It makes for a much cleaner printout and you can select which surfaces you want to export.

You realize I'm talking about inserting a site volume table into a drawing, right?

How do you use LandXML exports for that? Do you reinsert the data as an OLE object?

Sorry, thought about that after I replied. You could paste as a JPG but you wouldn't be able to edit that way. (Maybe that's a good thing though?)
As for filtering the Strata, did you define a site for each of your surfaces or are you using the same site def for all of them. If you defined a separate site you would get the table for just that site with each type of volume surface that you calc'ed. Grid, Comp and\or Section.

Ah, OK, that's probably the solution. Thanks.

I have discovered that creating a seperate site works for Site Volume Tables, but not for Parcel Volume Tables. A Parcel Volume Table always contains every volume calculated in the project. It's pretty annoying. This bug existed in 2004, and still exists in 2006.

I should probably try to figure out how to report bugs directly to Autodesk. I just started using 2006, and I already have a list of 20 of them. The paltry AUGI Wishlist can't handle this kind of volume... :-?

The quickest way to get the Error reporting feature to pop up is to use the task manager to close ACAD down. You will get the error reporter right after it closes.
