I've received a Revit project file from architects. When I opened it I got a message (see attached file). And file can not be opened. What does it mean and what to do to overcome this problem?
Welcome with any suggestions.

I guess Revit and Lenin aren't compatible

How about trying Marx instead? ;-)

But seriously, folks....
If this is 8.1, did you try unchecking the "Detach from Central" checkbox?

did you try unchecking the "Detach from Central" checkbox?Yes, and "Audit" too - without the result.

Help. This happened to me too. The file I was working on the other day will not open. What do I do?

We just ran into the same issue today. We are using Revit Architecture 2008 build #20070324_1700. The files were worked on just last week and everything was running smoothly.

I filed a support request but was wondering if anyone has had any resolution regarding this issue.

It seems like you are trying to open the file from a networked drive or a memory stick. Why don't try opening the file on your hard drive.

C:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\Local Settings\Temp

Sort By Date Modified,
I found a file named something like this with no file extension:
revittemp_2LEE7JNFGV9F280L59U1Q5D4VH5

I changed the name and added the .rvt and it was the file I was looking for and it worked.

You will get a "Seek failed" error message if you try to open a file that had its save interrupted before it has completed. The software was seeking something in the file and can't find it because the file is truncated.
