Does anyone know a way to add parameters to the "Project Information" portion of a Revit file (within Settings)? I would like to add a "revision date" parameter to the project information that is automatically placed on all sheet titleblocks. I've discovered how to add parameters to a titleblock that are edited individually on each sheet (via sheet properties). However, I would like something that I could place within the project information and have it placed on all the sheets together in one command.
Can't do it currently.
You can fake it by adding an instance family as you have discovered. Create a multicategory schedule with just this parameter and don't show all instances. Then to change the date just go to the schedule and update.

Make a copy of your title block in the project folder. Add a text block within your title block and put the "type parameters" in the titleblock family and reload. Not elegant, but it works better than most other workarounds I have found.

One of my top 5 requests.
