System Family: Label

I am working on a titleblock layout. I am trying to add "Cad File Number" as a System Family: Label type. I am not understanding quiet how to do this. It needs to be a tag that I can select and edit on the titleblock.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

You cannot make a new system family label.

You can use one of the existing label fields to display your cad file number though. For instance, Project Number if not used for that purpose, or Project Status etc.

Insert the label in the title block family and add the appropriate identifying description.

When you place a label into your custom titleblock, you will click the Add button. From there you will have to create a Shared Parameter, which is a custom parameter that is essentially "logged" in a centrally located text file so that you can use it on any Revit project. If you're unfamiliar with the concept of Shared Parameters, check the Help file.

Once you've created your own Shared Parameter, you can assign it to the label of your choice in the new titleblock.
