I have a plant site drawing that is 5 other drawings x-ref'd together. About 845 layers. I keep freezing a portion of the layers in the current viewport. It works while I have the drawing open. Then I file the drawing, close it + open it later. They layers do not stay frozen! Can you help?

Hi
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD Tips & Tricks (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=180) forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.
Thanks, Mike

check the VISRETAIN system variable, it should be set to 1 for the layers to stay frozen, also, when you are in the viewport are you using VPMAX, or just double clicking in the viewport. If you are using VPMAX, that could be the problem as well.

Hi
Take a look at the system variable VisRetain.
For more information on VisRetain ( if required ), try plugging it into the forum search (http://forums.augi.com/search.php?) facility...
Key Word(s): VisRetain
Have a good one, Mike
