Can somebody supply me with an example of a dynamic block that uses
lookup parameters?

I am thinking that I can use a lookup parameter, however, I am having
some trouble visualizing how they work.

the alum. door block in this post is another.

they work by "choosing" a list of pre-assigned values assigned to whatever parameters you have listed in the "lookup" (I sure hope this helps...)

I see how that works. Thanks for posting.

I bet I can figure out what I need to do.

using 2006 tried to save or download, double clicked a got a blank screen have you tried right-clicking to bring up a shortcut menu and then selecting 'save-as' option? (BTW, on your own posts, you can edit them, that button is right next to the "quote" button on lower right of post screen.)
