I just received this error message:
The Boolean operation on solids failed.
Modeling Operation Error:
Inconsistent face-body relationships.
How can I counter this so I can boolean? Does anyone know what the trouble might be?
It happened after importing an ACIS file. Then I tried importing the same thing as an STL, still no luck. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I've always assumed that it was due to calculation rounding errors and I've always managed to find another way to do it but then I've not been importing geometry.
Is it a very complex solid?

yes it is an extremely complex surface on a solid.

yes it is an extremely complex surface on a solid.
Bummer.
Do you have access to the original? Can the export precision be increased?
Have you tried subtracting the imported model from a bigger "lump" then subtracting the result from another, still bigger lump?
