Annotation (Text) with a box?

Is there a way to place text with a box without having to draw using a detail line or line?

I made a work-around with a generic annotation family. Text and box can be instance parameters. Lock the box to reference lines with instance dimensions to make the box adjustable. I couldn't figure out a way to make the box resize itself automatically for the text size..
