DISAPEARING VIEWS

Working on plans developed by others and revising Interior Elevations. The view appears at a distance however when I wheel in the view it disappears in the view.
Checked the options for Graphics and no joy there. Anyone else had this problem?

I get it with my floor plans. Was this started in 8.1 or brought forward from a previous version?

I find I always have a little hiccup from version to version.

I was told this was started in V6 somthing. Its anoying trying to work this way.
