I am starting to think about doing section details in revit and have a question about the detail componants and attaching it to the model geomety. If i do a wall section and add the stud plates to the section detail, is there a way to attach it all together so that if the wall moves, all the detail componants that are overlapped (including text) would move with it?

I was talking to somone yesterday that is currently trying to implement REVIT in there firm and told me that this type of attachment is not possible.

THanks

Justin

You can constrain all the detail components/lines to the wall and group to constrain text as the others reminded us... :)

After you complete the detail, including the text, make a group of the 2d detail components and text. Then align and lock the Group to the model. If the model changes, the detail moves with it, including the text. To make changes to the detail, edit the group.

Grouping the detail also allows you to use the same detail in several different places. Updating one will change all of them.

If you have a sweep as part of your wall assembly, you can load all the detail components you want into the sweep profile and then they will show wherever you cut through. You can add detail components to any family so if you have repeatative type assemlies it is very easy to construct them with all the details all ready in them.

I thought that REVIT would be more capable to do details then the guy i was talking to said. Seems simple, I appreciate the answers.

Thanks
