Hey All,

I am getting ready to start another campus building in Revit and I need a little advice. The building has a precast exterior with the panels forming shadow boxes around the windows. Any recommendations on the best technique to use? I have included some images of an existing building with similar windows.

Thanks

Clyne

Make a window family with the precast forming the shadow box included.

As for the corner pieces, you could create a hosted wall sweep.

Looks like that would be a simple enough procedure to add some sweeps or extrusions for the shadow box pieces to a fixed window family, or whichever family you wish. Since the profiles appear to be different on the top, bottom, and sides, I would probably just use 4 extrusions, locked to top, bottom, and side reference planes, and then join geometry of the 4 extrusion elements. Then insert them into a wall type that has precast concrete as the exterior finish layer.
