Reversing door swing flips int/ext casing

Apparently when one uses the "Flip facing" symbol to change the facing of a door it flips "all" geometry including interior & exterior door casing, which is not always desirable
am I correct about this?

yes the flip tool will flip the entire model. However you could easily creat a new door family with a parameter to flip the door swing and leave the frame intact.

... or make the interior and exterior casings separate instance parameters (Family Type parameters). This may be desirable anyway, since you may have different casings on the same door type when used at different locations.
