View Full Version : How do I add a stone/brick/cmu wainscot to an exterior wall?

I am trying to add a 3-4" stone wainscot to a vertically compound wall. I can't get the wainscot to act independantly from the material layer that is above it. (In this case a stucco layer 1-1.5" thick.) Is this possible, does someone have a workaround, a tutorial? Help!

Thanks

You can do one of two methods.

1. (my prefered) Add a wall sweep to the wall style in the style editor(section view) and assign it the proper material. It will stick out line cmu should.
2. Split the wall style in the style editor and assign the material to the upper and lower halves. Wall will be flush.
3. Create a new wall sweep and attach it the the walls that have the wainscot. Somewhat labor intensive but very flexible. You can "paint" the wall sweep to have the proper material. Hope this helps.
