Does anyone have a fireplace with the ability to see a
hearth in normal cut plane? See attached.
The one that ships out of the box, I can not get the hearth
to be visible in plan. I have circled the zone of where
hearth is and what is shown.
Also, somehow I lost the visibiity of my hearth outline. Any
thoughts as to what I did wrong?

Please strip down the file to maybe the wall and the fireplace and post it. We can get a better idea if we can see the file.

I can not get the hearth to be visible in plan.Have you tried a Plan Region? This sets the cut plane to be a different height than what you have set for the rest of your plan view. Your plan view is probably in the 4'-6' a.f.f.cut plane range, but your fireplace would be 2' or so...
Let me know if you need further clarification....

You would not believe this. I had a fireplace in the basement as well as
a fireplace stacked right above it on the first floor. Somehow some way
I deleted accidentally the one on the first floor and given I had a fireplace
directly below it, I thought the one I was viewing was in fact the first floor
fireplace and not the basement below.
As such, when I played with view cut plane on the first floor nothing
changed because no fireplace existed on the first floor due to my
deletion.
I was doing a quick 3D walk-around the model and went whoa Noah
where did the fireplace disappear to. I reinserted it, and had the view
settings set lower to hearth depth and everything looked great.
Like Solomon said, I will probably wind up using Plan Region setups
because window sills are set higher than the top of the hearth opening.
Thanks Brad and Solomon. See the end result.
